Recycling platform Visibla wins Compare’s annual innovation award
In connection with the business gala 100 degrees Karlstad, the recycling platform Visibla was awarded the Compare Innovation Prize. The annual award goes to an entrepreneur who uses new digital technology to contribute to a smart and sustainable society.
Visibla’s platform allows manufacturing companies to trade off each other’s stocks, promoting both the reuse of surplus materials and local trade. Tell us what the award means to you?”
– We are very early adopters and were surprised to be nominated already. The award confirms that the industry has noticed us and that we are doing something right. We got a real boost from this award,” say Maja Wennberg and Cecilia Ågren, co-founders of Visibla.
What is the most innovative thing about your business idea?
– There was no digital platform that allowed industrial companies to reuse materials. Finding that gap and being the only ones to offer it in Sweden feels like a hit, say Maja and Cecilia.
– “When you buy materials through our platform, you can immediately see the CO2 reduction compared to buying new materials. By buying residual materials from our platform, companies can contribute to reducing emissions.
In a short period of time, Visibla has attracted customers who buy and broker over 1000 items through the platform. What is your next important step?
– We need more customers to visit the platform and dare to buy. The materials are good and inexpensive, but people often turn to the usual, familiar supplier. This is a behavioural change that is needed in the industry.
